Ted Lawson: Ghost In The Machine - 48″ x 96″ – Blood on paper – 2014

Ted Lawson is Brooklyn based artist and 'Ghost in the machine' is one of his most recent pieces of work, for this work he used a couple of unusual mediums such as a robotic printer and his own blood. While doing this process Ted had to sit next to the machine while an IV takes his blood and it flows through to the printer, the printer has a programmed robotic arm that draws the nude self portrait.

Hikori Shimoda: Artist reference

Hikari Shimoda is a Japanese based artist and I chose to include her in my artist research because of the work she produces, I've known about Hikari Shimoda's work for a long time and have always loved the look of it. Hikari Shimoda's work have been included in various magazines and her work is also award winning, I like her work as it displays her feelings and emotions that she has about the world and the environment around her. To me Hikari's work communicates well with the audience and at the same time it's a gateway into her work and how she sees it. Instead of the digital artists that I tend to like Hikari uses a range of media from acrylic to oil paint, stickers to even collage to create her pieces of work.
