Ted Lawson: Ghost In The Machine - 48″ x 96″ – Blood on paper – 2014

Ted Lawson is Brooklyn based artist and 'Ghost in the machine' is one of his most recent pieces of work, for this work he used a couple of unusual mediums such as a robotic printer and his own blood. While doing this process Ted had to sit next to the machine while an IV takes his blood and it flows through to the printer, the printer has a programmed robotic arm that draws the nude self portrait.

Hikori Shimoda: Artist reference

Hikari Shimoda is a Japanese based artist and I chose to include her in my artist research because of the work she produces, I've known about Hikari Shimoda's work for a long time and have always loved the look of it. Hikari Shimoda's work have been included in various magazines and her work is also award winning, I like her work as it displays her feelings and emotions that she has about the world and the environment around her. To me Hikari's work communicates well with the audience and at the same time it's a gateway into her work and how she sees it. Instead of the digital artists that I tend to like Hikari uses a range of media from acrylic to oil paint, stickers to even collage to create her pieces of work.

Overwatch: Character Design

Recently a new game by the company Blizzard was announced called 'Overwatch' it's a multiplayer based game with objectives you complete as a team, but what caught my eye about this game was the concept designs for the characters and the scenes that are in the game.

The unique looking characters and their character profiles is what I look for in created characters not wether they are the best at the game but rather the design and feel to the character. I like to know the background and the lore of the character.

Mercy - Support

Symmetra - Support

Tracer - Offensive Fighter

Widowmaker - Defence

Phara - Ranged Attacker

Overwatch: Concept art

I specifically like the concept art for the backgrounds for the game, the bright colours and detail that they include is really interesting to me. I think they make a big different to the game but not taking a whole lot of attention from the characters and the overall main aspects of the game.

Overwatch: Cinematic Trailer

This is a cinematic trailer for a brand new game that's recently been released by a company called Blizzard called 'Overwatch' I really liked this trailer as it's a Pixar styled trailer and really shows the potential that the game could possess. It also does a good job of showing off the characters that are featured in the game which I'm really interested in.

Frozen: Behind the Scenes of the Animation

I'm quite interested in how the characters are made in the animation of films so I wanted to document it on my blog to show how it's done. I thought this video shows how much time is actually needed to animate each character and the details that are in the movie.

Disney's Frozen - A material point method for snow simulation

I found a video on how they animated the snow in frozen and the video documents the tests, simulations and process of the making of the snow that were used and then eventually placed in the movie.

Frozen - Concept Art, the journey of Elsa

I love the concept art for most Disney movies and I wanted to include these as I thought they showed emotion and depth of character with the use of colour and character poses. I also like seeing the way that the animators and artists go from point to point with concept art and finalising their designs, it's always interesting to see what the characters could have turned out to look like.

Frozen - Character Design sketches

Character sketches and animation sheets are one of my favourite things to look at, to me it shows all the sketches that they have to do just to get a clear image of what the character will look like at all times or in any situation. Seeing the detail swell is another thing that I like to look at, the sketches look like they are alive and actually possess emotion.
